Carteret RV has partnered with select
manufacturers to offer you a variety of recreational park homes and
park trailers. Many of our customers prefer to custom order their park
model, choosing the floor plan, interior decor, and exterior details
that will work best for them. Our goal is to help you customize your
home to suit your needs- whether you will be living there year round
or enjoying as a home away from home! Our attention to detail doesn't
stop with the park model home itself. We will also work with you to lay
out the home on your lot and maximize the space you have for outdoor
entertainment areas, such as decking, room additions, and screened-in porches.
If you choose, our custom park model home packages may also include
residential HVAC systems, under pinning and set-up on your lot with electrical and plumbing connections. We offer a
turnkey recreational home purchase experience. So, you can relax and
leave the details to us!
Park model homes and park trailers are similar in that they are both generally designed for recreational or seasonal living, and they both must comply with Recreational Park Trailer Industry Association's ANSI A119.5 standards program. Park trailers are 8' to 8'6" in width, typically with slide outs and varying lengths. Once set, units must not exceed 400 square feet. They are usually self contained for frequent highway travel during destination changes and have a rubber roof.
Park model homes are 11' to 14' in width and must also stay under 400 square feet. They are generally vinyl sided with a shingle or metal roof and may have a loft. Park models require a special movement permit for highway travel. For that reason, they are very popular in resorts and RV parks that are more permanent in nature.
*Note that decking,
screened-in porches and/or other additions may add to the total square footage of park homes as long as they
are in compliance with ANSI A119.5 and park regulations. Additions must also be permitted and inspected to ensure compliance with local building codes.
